Community Airport Partnership (CAP)

Community Airport Partnership

Program and Application Guidelines
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is accepting applications under  the CAP program until Friday, March 15, 2019 5:00PM CT. Applications received after this date will not be considered.

Eligible applicants include municipal or community owned airports that support economic development, general access to surrounding communities, and air ambulance operations. We encourage communities to partner with other communities, RMs and businesses in their proposal.

Typical projects would be pavement rehabilitation, slurry seals, overlays, lighting,  GPS approach design and Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS). As well, security fencing around an airport will be considered eligible for safety reasons. Consideration will also be given to runway extensions where benefits can be documented for safety, regional economic and social development reasons.

Based on feedback received, the Ministry has made a couple of changes from previous year’s funding:

  • Projects are now eligible to include Federal funding contributions, with exception of Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
  • Communities are now able to secure funding for multi-year projects.
