Construction at the Prince Albert Airport, Summer 2022
Posted On:  May 12, 2022

The Prince Albert Airport is undergoing major electrical rehabilitation this summer.
Be sure to check NOTAMS if intending to go to Prince Albert. During the construction period, there will be times when the airport will be closed to all traffic with the exception of medevacs, firefighting, and scheduled service.
The airport manager at Prince Albert is going to do his best to predict the work out a week at a time. Please check the airport's website and click on the “Pilots” tab for the most up-to-date information.
However, the schedule may change during the week so be sure to check NOTAMS not only ahead of your planned flight but just before your planned flight. Even if there is no NOTAM stating that the airport is closed to general aviation traffic, there may very well be work in progress near runways that would result in that work having to be suspended while an airplane is arriving or departing. The work has to be done this summer. In the interests of safety and efficiency, it may be prudent to bypass the Prince Albert airport for the summer.
